With its banks, diplomats, oil magnates and luxury brands, wouldn't Geneva be a wonderful setting for a next installment of the Kill Bill series ? (click on picture for high res)

  1. I really like this picture. It is like everyone is just waiting for something to happen. I like the empty road – I get the feeling that this is where the (dramatic) action will be that everyone is waiting for.
From technical point-of-view, I also like how this doesn't appear as desaturated as your other pictures. It really works well.
So to get this shot, did you hang around for a long time waiting for the right timing? E.g. was it a conscious decision to keep the road empty and did you wait for the woman to raise the cigarette? Just curious about your on-the-street workflow :)

  2. Hi,

It is less desaturated because of the warm sunset light. The oranges were so strong that it still shows after my usual desaturation. I did not have to wait since this is a tramway stop, no cars pass by so the streets is often empty. I just took a a first shot and waited for the girl to raise her cigarette. The fact that I used the X1 allowed me to remain unspotted for a while, I used live view on this one. Quite a change for me ;)

    Cheers.
