Even in the very heart of the city of Paris such as the Ile de la Cité, you'll find people playing pétanque. A little sand plot, a few little stones and here we go. (click on picture for high res)

Last March, I took a similar picture in NYC (Bryant Park) : very uncommon there ;-)
Obviously, it was French people playing….
and they were drinking wine with bread and cheese, no ? ;)
