It's kind of odd how Photoshop and other post processing softwares are often critized nowadays for their ability to alter reality. But isn't it what the History of Art is all about anyways ? (click on picture for high res)

That's a very good point. But I suppose there is always this notion of photography as reality and art as creativity? Some may even say that if you want to alter reality, then you might as well paint it, instead of using photography as the medium. Of course, we can argue that photography is another form of art, but it's one that carries the burden of accuracy. I don't know, I'm still figuring out my own stance on post-processing. Just some thoughts. :)
Yes, there is this notion in many people. But in the end, I think people buy as many artsy photographs are painting, so there is no rule here. You can also manipulate photography to make it look like painting. Have a look at this video, quite an amazing work http://vimeo.com/14611268 . yet probably won’t help you in your search of your own post-processing ;)
Great shot :) I have notived from a lot of your shots you seem to shoot a lot at iso160, do you also have a minimum shutter speed you try to stay above? I have been grapling with tying to set a minimum shutter speed on my LX5 for my street photography and thought to take advice from someone accumplished.
Hi, I shoot in all manual and stay at ISO160 all day long (unless I suddenly go inside). Since I use mostly wide apertures (F1.4 to F2.8), I pretty much am able to retain high shutter speed all the time. This being said, I like to stay above 1/250th which should freeze any moving person. 1/125th is ok provided there is not too much movement and I can go down to 1/30th is the subject is still (depending on the lens). Good luck !
Great vimeo, thank you!
Could have been done starting from a i-phone or nokia file.
Hockney's work during the last years is interesting.
News about your prints :) ?
And about your hard-drive?! If my prayers help…
