The gateway of India is a large Arch that was built to welcome Queen Mary and King George V as they landed in India back in 1911. Nowadays it has become the most iconic monument of Mumbai. Evidently, British ships are nowhere to be seen in the horizon anymore. (click on pictures for high res)
